I see some people say that if you can't be on when the auctions are ending it is nearly impossible to win, sometimes people get out bid at the last second cause of computer problems.....etc. My idea is to not have a set date and time where all the auctions end. When an auction is opened and a bid is made, there will be a 12 hour countdown until the auction closes. Each time the bid is raised it extends 12 hours. (It doesn't have to be 12 hours I'm just throwing out a number). This system may not be perfect but I think it would be better and fairer than the one in place. What do you all think?

I'd bid at the 11th hour and laugh and laugh after I retract it later.
hehehe

Issue with this is auctions would literally go on forever and ever and no new players would ever come in.

A better option would be a silent auction. Best bid wins by the deadline. We might have to send our bids to a certain account (a made up auction account) and then review the bids afterwards. It would take a bit of work, but it would make it more like the real NHL.

Yes, the 12 hours would go on forever on some players. We would never get to the next group fo players.

somebody would have to be willing to do it though. I always just put my max bid in anyway as I usually forget about them

Kings idea is good, but the thing with that is we'd almost have to have a GM do it, and then what if they want to bid on said player? They'd know what they have to beat.

Is there a way to make all bids invisible?

Simple. No one should be logging into the account except for whatever date the auctions end at 8pm.
If it is caught being logged into before hand, then whoever is doing it can't win any auctions?
I still think Pens would be able to do it, and he is trustworthy, so there wouldn't be any problems

I wasn't sure if there was a way to do that or not. If so, then that'll work.

Since I have no interest in any auctions here, I would be willing to take on this "PM this person auction stuff" if you guys want. Obviously I would not be permitted to participate in any, etc. I really like the idea of tweaking the auctions slightly, and that's a great way to do it to stop the last second stuff.
