Wanna Reduce the amount of players you can keep from 8 to 5? Just a suggestion it might give crappy teams like mine a chance. Even though you would have to increase the amount of picks I think it would be better for teams that don't get a taste of playoff hockey. what do you guys think ?
( I heard about Isles turning his team to a contender but not every GM is like that it would require more work and effort from the GM )

I would agree to this if only there wasn't a second gm who did the same thing. I wonder who it was hmmmm.... lol
i joke, 8 players is fine, do the work and you'll get in the playoffs, if ya don't do the work then tough luck.

With all due respect, I'm beginning to get tired of bad teams looking for the easy way out. Do the work, and you will be rewarded. Great teams don't get handed to you.

Overalls are overrated.
Find players that produce and are low levels. Example, Weinhandl he is currently my 17th highest rated skater...yet he leads the league in goals and my team in points.
You need to find players that are producers and can work together. There are usually a couple good ones in the draft and occasionally in FA. Make trades do work and you'll get there.
And no, I am not trying to get away from the idea, I've actually suggested it several times before. No dice, though.

maybe we could make it 7 every 5th season or something, but a lot of the non-playoff teams do unwise trades, gain an overall in a draftee and downgrade picks (81+2nd for 80+1st), and it is this that makes the bad teams struggle and good teams thrive.

We have talked about reducing the number of keepers before. And I'm actually all for it. The same old people will be against it though. The draft would be more fun, and probably get more people to come with higher rated players.

Yes, it has been talked about a few times. To take it down to 5 for a season. But the bottom teams would just trade away there picks that year and end up with the same stuff over again. The top teams are smart enough to trade down to 5 top players then and trade the others away for a good player and a top pick. I would like to do it for one season to see if it would help the bottom teams, but we have talked about this every season

I don't really care because I'm there for every draft. But if the teams that finished with a top 5 pick had a chance to draft a player around 87/88, I'm sure we'd have more people show up for the draft. Usually we have to auto or use a list for like 50% of the league and it'd be so much better if we could get at least 20 teams there for the draft.

after one or two seasons of doing this it would all balanced out again and we would be right back here again though. Accept for the top teams that figured it out to get around it.

If you want to balance it out we should have a draft smaller than 5 keepers. I've suggested 1 before. Maybe 3? I think 3 would be great.
3 Keepers 10 draftees
10 rounds

5 would bring some balance to the league. But we already know this is happening. We talk about it every year. As long as the top teams aren't the ones winning all the cups I don't think it is an emergency. Teams that squeak into the Playoffs seem to have a better chance

If we were to do a draft with like 3 keepers, in all honesty the better teams should get the better picks. They should get the first choices in the top players then let the weaker teams grab a 90 that the top teams don't want, honestly why should the tops teams just lose all the talent they worked for when the bottom teams are just too lazy to try and build a top team.
