Yes, but it will still be stronger no matter what. I don't want people quitting as a result either. That is my worry. I like the springing it but only if everybody knew it was a possibility I having it happen in any year

Since it does seem we will be doing this in some way, I think we should just hold a poll asking if they'd like it for this draft or the next saying we need 80% or more to be in favour of now.
What would you honestly prefer it to happen if quitting wasn't a worry?

My thinking was (and it stemmed from the idea that legends are being too redundant now.. there are too many.. everyone seems to have a solid, strong group of 5+ players) we have 6 keepers (ANY KEEPERS, NO auto protect.. or auto protect goalies, either way) and than the next 5 (or even 6-7 if you want) go into the draft. From the list, we keep about 30-40 strong high rated players. The next 20-30 we should put away for use in the auctions for the next upcoming seasons. This will ensure that we do NOT need to add any legends for a couple of seasons. Not only does this increase the value of some of the legends but it keep things fresh. Perhaps a guy you lose is auction bound, you're going to bid on him. There might be 5+ bids. The draft will also have a strong couple of rounds. Definatly some game changers. No more depth players. I know Cook can build a strong team of depth guys but plenty of people see it differently and don't have the stats available. This should peak interest in the draft.
Further, if we only have 5 rounds and people lose 6-7 guys, the auctions will continue to have many good "depth" players in the range of 79-83 guys most likely.
It's drastic but it's also something new, unique and refreshing. I know I'm gonna hate losing some of my guys but I'll either hope to get them back via the draft or trade for someone new.
If it happens that we go with anything new, we will have to give people atleast 4-5 days to settle some trades/make decisions. I think it'd be great if we did this every game changeover.

The only issue with this is I'd like to have the draft before the 31st of this month if at all possible, I literally won't be able to do it past that point for a week. We could do the draft on the 8th and allow this trading period to happen then before keepers need to be in, but I feel at that point the new ratings will somehow be leaked and ruin the fun of that part of it.

We could implement this for next season. It'll allow people a whole season to gear up for a pretty massive change... perhaps we lower the amount of keepers. It should stir up a lot of buzz. It might also allow some people to voice any displeasure, if anyone will have any.
The fact we have new ratings is a buzz in of itself. We'd have 2 seasons of interesting drafting happening.

Yes, I say we put it out there as something we will be doing and when is up to a league vote. If trading time is needed we will figure out a way to do. I can the end of the regular season and playoffs in a matter of a week if needed.

I think most will like the idea, just a matter of when we do it.

If the staff here like it, we can put the vote up right after the deadline, and if the league likes it we could quickly buzz through the rest of this season, have a trading period and a draft on the friday? It's up to you JM, but it'd be tight for time

I will bust my ass to get us where we need to be to get it done this season, if that's what it will take. If people want to wait a season that is fine also.

If you don't want to do it its fine, if you're fine with it, I'll get the poll up after the deadline.
Basically this is what I think should be done:
Goalies are autokeepers as always We get 6 keepers, we lose 6 players. 5 players go into the draft, 1 into future auction We will still have legends next season based on previous EA play. A lot of these auctions will not take place next season, just a heads up, we will hold them out for the following season as well. Basically either players ranked 31-60 or the 2nd best player from everyone's keeper list goes into the auctions.
That's basically the jist of this suggestion now, thoughts? lol

I an very fine with this. I wanted to do this for awhile. Just don't want to ruffle to many feathers if we don't have to. But yes, that looks great to me.

I'm cool with 6 keepers. Shake things up a bit. I've been reading through the thread but didn't feel I'd have much say since I haven't been here long enough to know issues that might've came up before and whether any of my ideas would make sense. You guys know what you're doing and I'm fine with it whatever you come up with.
