He doesn't want the teams with top guys already getting his players, which is what would happen if he did that.

What I was trying to say earlier, is if you want to become crap, you just put your players in the auctions for other guys. Kovalchuk on a 81 for example lol. What Philly said. I thought about that, but then the players like Kovalchuk, Malkin and Parise will just end up going to an already stacked team, who will likely never trade them.

There's always an option of installing a rule that states that players cannot be kept on a team for X amount of years. Or, if you want - Your keepers cannot be the same for X amount of years. Let's say for the next 5 seasons I have Geoffrion as one of my keepers but 5 years is the max which means Geoffrion either goes into the draft or I deal him off to another team to get fair value. This would ensure trading and "dispersal" of talent. I know, I know, there are guys who we all like and I like guys who I've traded for but I mean they're just names on a fake team. You won't commit suicide after you trade your childhood hero to another sim league team.
Thats the issue, teams like the teams they assemble. More specifically, we like the players we assemble. This limits trades. "I'm not trading him, I grew up watching so and so" With such an idea, the names can move around and perhaps you'd assemble different teams.
Just an idea...

that's just more work for the admins. I don't think anyone wants to look at each teams keepers for five years lol.

You keep track of it yourself on your roster page much like capleagues keep track of their player salaries on their roster page.
At one point, when we're well into our late 20th sim season, things are going to become stale. Adding legends and auctions won't flare as much entertainment as they used to. It'll be time to introduce newer ideas even ones that some may be reluctant to introduce.

To be quite honest, I'm getting bored. But that's just me, and it's not anybodies fault. It's just that it's the same old thing and I'm losing interest.

I'm not getting bored, but I can see why some might.
I personally wanted to just try something new.

I imagine there are people in the same boat. Trading has become more difficult as a result of teams assembling guys they don't want to trade and such. The draft is pretty much the same every year, the auctions minus some legends are wishy washy. I have no plans on leaving this league, I haven't won a damn cup yet but I think we need to look at different ways to spice things up. I have no idea why you'd reject trades like the ones NJ wanted to make. It's his decision, it's not like he's going to screw his team over and leave. Thats why we have trade mods - to prevent rookie gm's who make silly trades and abandon their now-screwed team. We're heading towards 20 seasons of sim league action, at some point you'll need to do some renovating to continue making this the best sim league out there.

I see no problem with lettign him do it. Would difinitely make the battling more challenging.

Only problem with the 5 year thing is that the top players would just be rotated amongst the stacked team. They won't end up all over the place they will just be shuffled between 3 or 4 teams. We hear about teams dismantling very year, guess what? It doesn't happen. Don't get your hopes up bottom teams, they won't be letting these guys go for nothing.
