Our drafts on EA NHL Simulation are keeper-style.
At the conclusion of each season, we will hold the draft. Each team will be able to protect a total of 8 skaters, with goalies being auto-keepers. Your keepers can be anybody you want. After you choose your 8, the next highest 5 rated skaters on your team will enter the draft. If there is a tie in ratings, you will be able to choose who stays and who enters the draft. Since you are losing 5 players to the draft, you will start each season with 5 draft picks.
You must have your draft picks listed on a page in your team's thread. Draft picks are of course tradable.
Draft order is determined with the same format used by the National Hockey League.
A composite of all Member Clubs shall be prepared by placing:
i. First the Clubs which failed to qualify for the next preceding playoffs in the order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest points total and followed by the Club having the next lowest points total, and so forth.
ii. The Clubs which participated in the next preceding playoffs (but had not been ranked first in their respective Divisions and did not make the Conference Finals) in order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the next preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest total points and followed by the Club having the next lowest total points, and so forth.
iii. The Clubs which had been ranked first in their Divisions during the next preceding season (but had not made the Conference Finals ) in the order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the next preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest total points and followed by the Club having the next lowest total points, and so forth.
iv. The Clubs who lose in the Conference Finals in the order of points earned by each of them in the regular schedule of the next preceding season starting with the Club having the lowest total points and followed by the Club having the next lowest total points.
v. The Club which loses in the Finals shall select next to last.
vi. The Stanley Cup winner shall select last, thus, positioning all Clubs on the list.
In the event of a tie for any position, such tie shall be resolved by application of the rules governing the determination of final League standings. The resulting list shall constitute the order of selection.
Tie-Breaking Procedures:
At the conclusion of the regular season, the standing of the teams in each Conference shall be determined in accordance with the following priorities in the order listed:
a. First place in each of the three (3) divisions seeded 1, 2, and 3.
b. The higher number of points earned by the Club.
c. The greater number of games won by the Club.
d. The higher number of points earned in games against each other among two (2) or more Clubs having equal standing under priority (b) and (c) **
e. The greater differential between goals scored for and against by Clubs having equal standing under priority (d).

Draft Attendance Rule
If you cannot attend the draft and you fail to send in a list, you will be skipped for the remainder of the round. After the conclusion of those picks, you will then get your selection. Please note, even if you plan on attending the draft, I would recommend sending in a list either way. This way, you avoid the potential of being late and having your pick skipped. Also! - If you were skipped and you enter the draft, you are then allowed to select after the pick currently up.
For example - You are pick 5, we are at pick 16 when you enter, you pick '17th'
