Staff - We need more activity. This starts with us. Only half of us seem to be around most of the time. We need you guys to make a real effort on coming on for even a brief moment mainly every day. The first thing people look at when decided to join a site is the members active in the past 24 hours, having around 10 people is embarrassing for us.
We also need to find a way to fill teams. We currently have 5 teams open and around 5 that are never really around. Ideally, we find a way to fill all of those teams in the next month.
Happy Holidays guys.

agreed.
Not sure what to do though. We've tried to promote on LC and it didn't really bring much activity.
Perhaps just by starting random topics to get conversations going just so it looks more interesting and keeps people here?

Let's all try and make one post in the shoutbox per day when we sign on, just a quick little story about how you smoked pot with your buddy or whatever, doesn't matter, anything that doesn't make it look like nothing is going on.

post in threads too. SHoutbox is very fleeting, but if people have lots of threads to scroll around in, they can see the site itself has stuff going on. I think No_GM trades if we allow that will help big time, since this site has a lot of locked up players, and things. But yes, I agree. Lots of shoutbox posts, talk about anything, and threads about real life and personal stuff is great, because it attaches people and experiences to the site, and makes them feel more connected to you, to us, and to the community.

Bang bang. I'm going to post the rules for Non-GM trades after the draft.

Some ideas:
- Refer 1 friend to site = Bonus 1st round pick (31st overall and so on). Refer 3 friends = top pick in draft. why not? go big or go home. I think 3 healthy, fresh new faces will be really beneficial to this league. I think this is a GREAT incentive. - Prizes for activity/improvement of team. Winning the Stanley cup can mean you can upgrade 1 player by a couple of overalls. Being an active member (voted upon by staff) may let you upgrade 1 player. Most improved team? Same thing.

We've done things like this on other sites, and it's not that they are bad ideas, but what happens over time is with the second one, it means the active people get better, and the inactive ones get worse, so they lose more interest.

The thing is to, refer 3 friends = they might try and create 3 new accounts, or add friends that never plan on staying.

On ManMMA, we have the whole "Your referral has to be here for 1 full month before you get your reward" thing. That weeded out the people who had no interest in the site and just joined up to help a friend.

1 month and need to have atleast 30+ posts in order to qualify?
That way, they don't post once at signup, come back a month later make 2 posts and boom, reward.

I would be fine with that, anything that would help us

I think getting the first overall pick is a bit much personally.
I like the idea of 1 friend = 3rd 2 friends = 2nd 3 friends = 1st
cash out whenever you want (meaning if you get only 1 friend one season, you can opt not to have the pick yet and go and try and get 2 more to upgrade to that 1st, or have the choice of a 3rd and 2nd)

Whoa, first OVERALL pick? I missed that part. First round is one thing, first overall is another.
