Small poll, but can help overall. We've had a Cbox here forever, but it's starting to look a bit outdated in my eyes. Since we are moving forward with this upgrade, I felt this should be part of the discussion. What would you guys prefer moving forward? Some of the perks of the Cbox - We've had it forever - You can see 'older messages' where as on the shoutbox you cannot. Perks of the Shoutbox** - It's new/fresh - You don't have to write in your name everytime, automatically takes your username - Nicer look to it. The decision here in my opinion is do we go with the one that looks more updated, but lacks older messages, or what we've always had. This is not really a major site changing decision, but it'll make things neater and nicer. I enjoy the shoutbox, and it's basically used for quick dialogue, but anything beyond that should have a created thread. So if we're gunna chat hockey games that are going on and theres quite a few participatants, create a thread that everyone can enjoy! |

The biggest thing with the Shout box is it is impossible to impersonate someone. Once we do the change over I will leave both up for a little while so people can really see what we are talking about, though I suspect most are familiar with both at this point.
But the lack of impersonating people is huge. Oh, and you can also edit your posts. So if you typo, or change your mind, you can change what you posted in the SHoutbox, just like on boards. I use it all the time for typos.

The Shoutbox looks good and not terribly different from the Cbox. I am good to change to the Shoutbox.

Does anyone hate having both? Cause it might not be pretty, but it's not hurting anythinghaving both up. Best of both worlds.
(Also, and I just realized this while typing the above sentence - until we get the admin account, I cannot remove the shoutbox - I can remove the c-box though)

I like both. If we need get a quick message out the shout box is great and to have discussion cbox works, and we can keep anons.
If one eventually did dies it can be removed.
