I honestly thought there was a discussion weeks ago about having another season before the next game. Hence taking a younger player than Blake at the same current overall in order to throw into auctions for a legend. If the league knew there was not going to be another season, then yes that is my bad. I'll accept that, but is it possible to hold off the next draft until new ratings are announced so everyone in the league can make the smartest choices for their teams moving forward? It's taken me like five seasons just to get to this point - a perennial 8th place finisher, and I'd like to not throw away exceptional talent while keeping EA 13's good rated players. EA always stresses me out because they make odd choices one year to the next. There was talk about this but we decided that having a week or so layoff would not be detrimental to this league and it'll give JM a few days rest. That risk everyone takes. I remember one year the ratings were stupid low. Like the best players were rated insanely low. However, we dealt with it and moved on. Each year, you have NO idea what EA is thinking and that`s part of the fun. It's also a bitch when guys you think should go up never do. Or guys you lost went up a decent amount. It's apart of this league, though. It always has been. We try to settle the draft before any "re-released" ratings occur so everyone in the league is blind to the new ratings. It adds a bit of fun to it, imo.

Just a heads up as well, if nothing does end up winning, but the other four options are dominant, we will have another vote to vote between nothing and the most voted for option of the first four?
The reason behind this is because nothing is against all change, whereas the other four options do want some sort of change. This gives the 'losers' the option of picking between the two options. Hope that makes sense haha.

I find it ironic that the two that were leading the "change things!" movement are now leading the "don't change anything!" movement.

Sorry I haven't been part of the discussion, been busy as of late.
I don't think making a change to the draft more than half way through a season is fair for anyone. I have no problem with the change, as it's been talked about for many seasons, but I would give it until next season, when NHL 14 is underway, and teams are aware of what's happening.
Don't think it's fair to just kind of drop a bomb on everyone like this.

I know this something people have wanted in the past and if we do a year from that is fine also.

For clarification.
THIS suggestion is talking about doing a ONE-TIME ONLY reduced-keeper list draft, then going back to 8 forever after (unless voted upon like this again? Is that correct?

My problem with it is that all of the overalls will be changing when switching to the new game, which means that a lot of trades and auctions I just did for upgrades will actually be the complete opposite in the new game. I know that affects everyone, but if the legends' overalls are staying the same then I may as well have just dealt my whole team for legends for a consensus moving forward. But it is funny that we threw this out there like a year ago and were attacked for it and yet, here we are. If the highest rated overalls in the game change so will the ratings of legends accordingly. We have done that in the past. But as far as the opening of the new game, we have always done it blind. That has always been the fun of it

I think we need to wait a season. No notice was given to adjust our rosters to keep the players we want. I'm all for it next off season.

We'd have this keeper idea (of 6) occurring occasionally. When this happens (This or next season) the next one will most likely be the next game change over.

I don't mind trying something new. I would like to try the new format now but maybe we just do our regular draft (without knowing the NHL 14 ratings) as we normally do and then give everyone time to setup for the new format.
I want to do the blind draft for sure though. I think these are the most exciting drafts because we need to be more strategic in who we are picking and then seeing the overalls afterwards is always an adventure! Maybe you luck out with the overalls and maybe not but the suspense is great!

Nothing will happen for this draft, we will hold another poll later on about doing this concept next draft.
