Rejected, 83 is definitely too much to make up for a one-rating difference.

Yeah, reject here as well. Someone's gotta give up an 81/80 for me to accept.

In an auction, an 89 is worth more than the 88+83. It's not really fair to have 1 standard for auctions and another for trades.
So I am giving him auction-bate, and he is giving me a value-less protect, and a downgrade at C.
And let's be honest, more people on this site care about Peter Stastny than Newsy Lalonde.

It's a different scenario between auctions and trading.
He might not like Newsy Lalonde but he can be used easily in the auctions to get a top line player.
Like I said, if a 81/80 was added, I have no problem accepting.

Why is it a different scenario? Both are means of player acquisition.
I don;t have numbers in front of me, but I would not be surprised if Peters numbers were just as good as Newsy's and Weiss' combined.
(also, adding an 80-81 defeats the purpose of this trade - to add a body - that we all know i will lost at the end of the season - in order to protect an 80 that I like). Rejecting trades like this makes it harder for new guys like me to get my team to a position like Pens has, where every season I can have the depth to protect an 81-rated player.

That makes no sense. Literally, none.
"A bid of an 89 is higher than a bid of an 88+83" ok. Fair enough.
"This trade is unfair because an 88+83 is worth more than an 89" Wait, what?
No one sees the problem here?
(All that forgetting the fact that I lose the 83 at the end of the season, but he gets the 1 overall upgrade forever)

I'll try something different.
Can you guys look at my roster?
How me acquiring an 83 makes this trade a league-breaker?
I have 1 line, and the rest of my lines are basically high 70s, with a few 80s. When a team like Pens has 5 lines of 80+ players, I can see where he could toss in any old 80/81 to make this fair, but I do not have that depth, which is why I am trying to get some depth here.
It becomes literally impossible to build depth.
(for more on why I cannot win auctions, see the above argument about other teams having more depth to win those auctions with...)

Throw in some sort of pick swap, like a 3rd and a 5th

damnit i was going to lose weiss to draft and this upgrades my top 8 which is what this league really boils down to since the depth guys dont really matter

I have no depth and I made the playoffs last year.

Did you win the cup?

Did Pens? (the deepest team on the site)
And you are arguing with me that my team sucks because I have no depth as you reject a trade I try to make to give me depth.
