I come to discussions late.
Does anyone play HUT?
What does your team look like?
I finally got mine close to where I want it. I rotate cheap players to fill my 3rd and 4th lines and usually 2 D lines as well. But my "keeper" lines look a little bit like this:
Kurri - Gretzky (LA) - Gilmour D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Roenick Heatley - Kopitar (probably) - ? ? - Henrique (maybe?) - Jagr
Byfuglien - Doughty E. Johnson- Karlsson ?-?
Quick Rask

Yes, I had no intentions of buying this, but my friend got it free with his PS3 and doesn't play hockey games, so I gave him $5 for it. That was in like, December. And EA didn't get my money WIN!

They still got money for that copy of the game. So they don't care.

They don't need to care. My money did not go to them, that's all I care about. And since it was part of a PS3 bundle, they didn't get full $ for the copy of the game anyways.

Well for one that's impossible you won't find documentation on the internet.
However, EA sells there game to companies like EB Games, Wal-Mart, etc and that is how they make their money. Then, we, as the consumer, buy the product from EB Games lets says, for a higher price then what that store bought the game for.
That is how the store makes their money. They are the middleman.
So while EB Games sells each game for about $60, EA sells it to them for around $40 per game. That is why you see the price drop throughout the year. Because the game isn't in the same demand. So they lower the price to match the market.
Quite Simply, no one could buy the game, and EA would still make money. It's EB Games, Wal-Mart etc that would be screwed, and would think twice before wanting the next game in their store. Then, no middlemen buy the game, and that is how EA NHL would go out of business.
If it takes $10 to produce each game. And they are sold for $40 a copy to the middleman. EA earns $30 profit.
It costs EB Games $40 a copy, then they sell it for $60, and make $20 profit.
Multiply that by millions of copies and you make quite a bit... (BTW not exact numbers, only the companies would know that)

Well for one that's impossible you won't find documentation on the internet. If the internet is your only source of "documentation", umm...you might wanna reconsider what you believe bro. ...they are not bundles put together by EB. They are bundles ppackaged by the manufacturer. Sony/Microsoft do not pay the same price for NHL 13 as EB does. The overall moral is, and always has been, my money doesn't go to EA until they fix their consumer practices. I think for myself, unlike our good friend cor.

Yup, but both companies still get proper payment from EB for the BUNDLE. They both still make profit, and that is all they care about. So too you, saying that EA doesn't get your money, and that is they reason you bought the game... is sorta funny. They never get your money. It's EB or Wal-Mart or whoever you buy your games from that doesn't get your money. That was my whole point. Not who puts together the bundles.

WHy do you keep saying EB? It's not just EB? This particular bundle was purchased at FutureShop....
And no, the deal is the bundle was already made. They got money from THAT bundle, but EA got no money from ME for their game. If they made a good game each year, I would buy a new, 60 dollar game each year. But its all the same now. If you look at the changes between NHL 94 and NHL 95, or NHL 96 and NHL 97, they are massive. Now they slack and make the same shit every year with minor tweaks that take 1 dude 3 days to do and sell it as a full, brand new 60 dollar game. I don;t buy it (literally).
But anyways, my original question is about HUT. No one has answered it. Feel free to do so.

But anyways, my original question is about HUT. No one has answered it. Feel free to do so. 1. I use EB as an example, it's the same with everyone 2. EA NEVER gets your money. They never see anyone's money. So your whole attitude of "sticking it to the man" is laughable 3. You think they slack, but they don't. They do a lot in the 6 month time period they have. There is only so much they can change in that time period, and only so much you can change in a sports game. 4. Please tell me the changes back then. They literally made minimal changes because there were no new game modes (was just exhibition and season) and barely any graphic changes due to lack of technology. They literally did NOTHING. EA now revamps different gameplay functions yearly, revamps/adds game modes yearly and it takes a lot of work. For NHL 14, they are revamping the hitting engine to make it more realistic, re-doing the fighting engine (which has been asked for) to make it look and feel more real, they are revamping Be-A-Pro and adding a lot more depth to it to make it playable (and from conversations with you, that seems to be your favorite mode if I remember correctly).
