This is just a suggestion but since goalies get injured now and people seem to be hoarding goalies (some have as many as 4) maybe we should stop making them safe in the draft. Keep the numbers the same but if you want to keep multiple goalies then you have to give up another player. This way it gives other teams a chance to get a solid back up.

Not sure how goalies could be worked into the draft but I was actually planning on proposing a 3-goalie per roster maximum to try and keep the hoarding down. I think teams should be allowed to have 3 goalies though seeing as most teams end up having a goalie get hurt at some point during the year.

For the draft it would just be keepers and left over. no auto-keep goaltenders. Other than that it would be the same. Keep your 8 and the highest OA's after are going to draft. Makes it interesting for GM's to decide what they want more.

And if people get upset perhaps change keepers to 9 to include goalies.

You could make it so that only 2 goalies are auto-protected, and then if the 3rd, 4th goalie etc are one of the 5 highest, they go into the draft. I don't know.

The only thing wrong with what Colorado proposed is that having a 3rd goalie (rated 82ish) can help protect an 82 forward/ d-man. It also doesn't really help anyone in the draft. I'm all fine with a 3 goalie rule (I am one with 4 right now haha).

Starting next year I'm going to be enforcing a hard cap of 30 players on each roster (including a maximum of three goalies). 30+ player rosters are hard to manage in the game for Yotes.

Oh and Pens, I was thinking, and wanted to clarify something.
If you're going to enforce a limit of 30 players per team, after we protect our top 8, and put our next 5 highest into the draft, we would be able to voluntarily throw guys into the draft pool, yes? Because if you're going to be enforcing a limit, I don't really want guys like Crabb 75, Colborne 76 taking up roster spots.

Can I give Joey MacDonald to a team with only 2 goalies? I'd rather do that than just lose him.
