So I decided to do one last one of these before NHL 12, and to kill time in the "sim world" during this slow time. I start at the draft.

The owner wants 44 wins this season... It will be tough!

My Scout tells me to target 5 players:

LW Pierre-Olivier Morin - 4th Round
D Josh McFadden - 1st/2nd Round
D Connor Cox - 1st Round
LW Cory Macintosh - 1st/2nd Round
C Cam Braes - 2nd Round

I decide to shop Vinny and Rollie to try and get a solid #1 goalie.

The Draft

MIN offers me A.Miettinen, J.Madden and E.Nystrom for Vinny, Gilroy and a 3rd. It's not what i'm looking for so I pass

NYR offers me B.Richards for Vinny... Yes Please

With the 6th Overall pick, I take D Tony Vidgren from Finland

MIN offers me Nystrom for Gervais... I take it to add depth and keep my rep up.

DAL offers me B.Morrow and A.Burish for D.Tyrell and two 3rds... I accept it and bitchslap Joe.

With my 2 thirds I added D Brett Cook and G Ben Conz

With my 2 4ths I grab C Gabriel Levesque and C Matthew Bissonnette

In the 6th Round I take Brandon Alderson (RW) while in the 7th I take TGH Kyle Tarini.

On July 1 I deal Brett Clark to the Sens for Adam Foote (Sens got at draft)

I also offer Mike Modano a 1 year deal. He ends up accepting.

I notice that the Rangers are shopping Sean Avery, I offer the Rangers Adam Hall and a 4th round pick and they gladly accept.

After a slow FA period, I have a lineup of the following:

Regular Season

I name Stamkos the new captain to start the season.

We lose the season opener 2-0 to the Winnipeg Jets. We finish October 6-3-1 despite being without Brad Richards due to a Concussion, he should be back by Nov 8th.

By Christmas we sit 5th in the East with a record of 19-13-3. Not Bad.

After checking the Stats, I find that Purcell isn't cutting it on the 2nd line.. And I see Jagr is on the block, so I deal Purcell and Phillis 2nd next year for Jagr. Hefty price but Jagr is on fire!

At the all-star game we are now 28-20-3, and sit 4th in the East. Stamkos gets a goal in the game, he was my lone representative in the 8-4 West win.

The Trade Deadline is upon us and we sit in 6th (34-25-3). I decide to shop my first round pick.

We get no offers and make no moves, Teddy Purcell got traded to CBJ for a 1st though.
