Alright, so Ottawa sucks, they hire me, they promised they won't ever fire me (I turned it off so I wouldn't get fired 3 years into a rebuild).
Weeeeooooooo, let's begin.
Scouts want me to get the following guys; C Charles Wells [Projected 4th Round] G Derek Tendler (lol awfully close to Tender - like Goaltender) [Projected 1st/2nd Round] C Taylor Carnevale [Projected 4th Round] D Robert Mcewan [Projected 1st/2nd Round]* LW Braedon Johnson [Projected 4th Round]**
Before the draft, I put Alfredsson, Gonchar and Phillips on the block.
Colorado offers me Matt Hunwick and Shawn Belle for Alfie - no. Boston offers me Seidenberg and Boychuk - no. We pick 16th and get Mcewan*.
St. Louis offers me Polak for Schira and a 7th - accepted. San Jose offers Wallin and Murray for Alfie - no. We have no 2nd round pick.
Detroit offers Holmstrom and Modano for Alfie - nah. We draft LW Kevin King in the 3rd round.
Columbus offers crap for Anderson, I switch it to Leclaire and they say no - I don't blame them. Boston offers Seidenberg, Boychuk, Hnidy and Mciver for Lee and Kuba - sure. We get Johnson** in the 4th.
No 5th round pick, no trade offers.
We pick Dmitri Volchenkov in the 6th round. RW.
Calgary offers Sarich, Staios, Kostopolous and Pardy for Anderson, Leclaire and Benoit - Nope. Columbus offers Boll and Clitsome for Anderson - I try adding in Leclaire and Mason - no deal. No 7th round pick. Draft done.
-----------------------------------
The only player I need to re-sign is Winchester. So I do, and I sign Kevin King and David Rundbland.
I don't sign any FAs, I want to see what my team can do.

Our lineup is: Michalek - Spezza - Alfredsson Foligno - Regin - Neil Shannon - Potulny - Svatos Locke - Winchester - Smith Bass
Phillips - Gonchar Seidenberg - Karlsson Hnidy - Carkner Boychuk (Don't want to trade him, I'll move Karlsson up to the first pairing when Gonchar retires, then throw Boychuk in)
Anderson Leclaire
0-2-2 pre-season, this could be ugly.
We head into December with a record of 10-10-5. I must say, I didn't even expect to be .500 at this point. Spezza leads the team with 11 goals, Alfie leads with 12 assists. Karlsson is a +9, Neil has 52 PIMs and 9 wins for Anderson.
Scout says the draft should be good. Cool.
We head into the All Star break with a record of 22-19-9. Alfredsson leads the team in goals and assists with 18 goals and 24 assists. Regin is +12, Neil has 101 PIMs and Anderson has 21 wins.
Alfredsson is our All Star, he registers 2 assists in a 5-3 East win.
Trade Deadline time YAYYYY. Maybe someone will take my old people now. -Buffalo offers Cody McCormick for a 4th - no thanks. -Buffalo offers Cody McCormick, Derek Joslin for Boychuk, 4th, 6th - deal, Joslin's got a bomb. -Detroit offers Eaves and Abdelkader for Shannon, Locke, 5th - Welcome back Eaves, Abdelkader is the one we really wanted though. -Boston offers Campbell and Recchi for Butler, Grrening, 7th - meh, no thanks.
And that wraps up the Trade Deadline.
We finish the year 38-33-11. Neither of Ottawa or Binghamton make the playoffs, it sucks to be any sort of Senator this year.
Team Leaders: Spezza had 27 goals. Gonchar had 42 assists. Spezza had 65 points. Carkner/Neil had 144 PIMs. Spezza/Michalek were +20. Svatos had 13 PPG. Abdelkader had 3 SHG. Neil/Foligno/Bass had 4 GWG

No trade offers before the 1st round, we have 2 picks so we take Anton Zupancic* with the 9th overall pick, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins** with the 14th.
No trade offers before the 2nd round either... Anyways we have 2 picks again, we take LW Lucas Lessio and G Brett Teskey.
Again no trade offers. We take Yannick Veilleux***
Nothing happens before the 4th, no pick.
Same with the 5th.
Take D Jake Cardwell in the 6th.

Season 2 starts, and we drop the home and season opener 8-3 to Atlanta. Ouch.
We go 4-4-6 in October, this wouldn't be bad if I hadn't just given up our 1st and 3rd round picks to get Dubinsky. I put Spezza, Gonchar and Alfredsson back on the block to maybe get some futures for them, I'll try to trade them at the deadline.
I trade Neil, McIver and a 6th to Dallas for Torrey Mitchell and Woywitka.
The Islanders offer me there 2012 and 2013 first round picks for Spezza and Zack Smith. Deal.
November is better, we go 8-7-0 bringing our record to 12-11-6.
We claim Devan Dubnyk off of waivers to back up Anderson, peace McElhinney.
December is shitty again, finish the year with a record of 16-17-8. REALLY regretting getting rid of my 1st now.
We head into the break with a 20-25-8 record. The Rangers are actually behing us so they have 2 top 10 picks right now. The Islanders however are only 1 point ahead of us, so we still have a top 10 pick also. (Rangers 8th, us 9th, Isles 10th).
Karlsson was our all Star, got 1 assist in a 5-3 West win.
We claim Schneider off of waivers also. A goaltending situation where you have too many good goalies is a good problem to have, right? Right now we've got Anderson starting in Ottawa, with Dubnyk backing him up, and Schneider starting in Binghamton with Lehner backing him up.
-------------------- Trade Deadline
Colorado offers Ryan Wilson, Mark Olver, and Christian Hanson for Eaves, Abdelk...get the fuck out of here Colorado. Boston offers Mcquaid and a 2nd for Bass, a 6th, and a 7th. - No, but only because I'm set on D. I offer Gonchar to Detroit for Tatar and a 4th - no deal. I offer Alfredsson to Vancouver for a first - no deal.
Boston offers a 1st, Mcquaid for O'Brien, 4th, 5th - Deal. Colorado offers Ryan Wilson and Mark Olver for Seidenberg, 2012 5th, 2012 7th - I counter for a 1st - they say no.
Colorado offers the same old pile of shit. - I say no. Toronto offers a 3rd and McGrattan for Joslin - No. I offer Gonchar to Anaheim for Scott Valentine - they accept.
Montreal offers Eller, Desharnais and Dumont for Phillips, Greening and a 6th - I accept.
Chicago offers Olimb and A.Johnson for a bunch of crap - I accept just for funsies. I have one more chance to move Alfie - offer him to Washington for a first - nope. --------------------
After a big trade deadline, our team now looks like this: Parise - Dubinsky - Alfredsson Michalek - Regin - Svatos Foligno - Mitchell - Eaves Abdelkader - Potulny - Olimb Winchester
Carkner - Karlsson Hale - Seidenberg Polak - Woywitka
Anderson Dubnyk
We actually don't finish too bad. 35-38-9.
Team Leaders: Parise - 34 Goals Karlsson - 52 Apples Parise - 74 Points Carkner - 169 PIMs Parise/Alfredsson - +22 Parise - 11 PPG Olimb - 4 SHG
Now the fun part. We ended up giving the Rangers the 7th overall pick. We have the Islanders, which is the 12th overall, and the Rangers ended up making the playoffs.
Stanley Cup - Pittsburgh Presidents Trophy - LA Clarence S. Campbell Bowl - Vancouver Prince of Wales Trophy - Pittsburgh Art Ross - Crosby Hart - Price Norries - Commodore..... :/ Lady Byng - Gaborik Calder - Goalie Bob Conn Smythe - Flower Vezina - Price Jennings - Flower Masterton - Commodore Selke - Huselius Ted Linday - Crosby Richard - Crosby

Notable retirees include: Brendan Morrison, Prospal, Langenbrunner, Holmstrom, Souray, Salvador, Veilleux (one of my prospects :S), Sullivan, Thomas, Clemmensen
I'm told to get: D Nick Ebert [Projected Top 10] D Darryl Snelling [Projected Top 10] D Dillon Fournier [Projected 2nd/3rd Round] C Connor Sanvido [Projected 3rd Round] D Charles-David Beaudoin [Projected Top 10]
I found out I have the 11th and 12th picks. I must have forgotten I traded for someone elses...
San Jose offers Nilsson for Eaves - I accept. I draft D Mackenzie Johnston and RW Toni Korpikoski.
No trade offers, no picks.
Carolina offers Casey Borer and Ryan Donald for Alfredsson. I already have a shitload of D, so I pass. I offer Alfredsson to Tampa for Carter Ashton - they say no, so I try for Brett Connolly, they say no again. No picks in the 3rd round.
No trades, no picks in 4th round.
I pick C Mark Scheifele in the 5th round.
Nothing in the 6th.
I pick D Magnus Havelid in the 7th.
--------------------
We let Winchester, Dubnyk, Desharnais walk. We re-sign Schneider, Karlsson, Carkner, Foligno, Eller, Mitchell, Regin, Olimb, Mcquaid and Abdelkader. We don't sign any prospects this year, I'll wait until next off season to see if any are worth a contract.
We had into FA and offer Brad Boyes a 1 year contract, and he accepts.

You should have kept Dubnyk and traded him, he's got decent trade value. I picked up Del Zotto for Dubnyk and a 2nd at the first deadline in a GM Mode after claiming him, and then NY ended up waiving Dubnyk after the deadline, so I claimed him.

I've got Lehner in the minors who's I think a 79 now, so I'll probably put Anderson on the block and go with Schneider/Lehner.

I forgot to save, so now we're right after the TD of 2012, so all the trades happened, but now we have to finsih the season.
We actually ended up doing better than last time around, finishing 37-36-9.
Senators Leaders: Parise - 34 Goals Karlsson - 45 Assists Parise - 76 Points
Columbus wins the Stanley Cup Toronto wins the Calder Cup
-------------------- Draft day:
-Put Anderson and Alfredsson on the block, along with Dubnyk -We have the 11th and 13th picks
Scout says to go after these guys: D Dillon Fournier [Projected 2nd/3rd Round] G Matt Murray [Projected 1st Round] LW Brock McGinn[Projected 3rd Round] C Mike Winther [Projected 3rd Round] C Marcus Messier [Projected 3rd Round]
1st Round: New Jersey offers Corrente for Woywitka and a 7th, deal. Montreal offers Pouliot for Polak - I put Joslin instead of Polak - they reject. We draft D Mackenzie Johnston and RW Marko Santala
2nd Round: Montreal offers Y.Weber for Joslin - we accept. No picks.
3rd Round: We offer Alfredsson to Calgary for Nemisz - they say no. We offer Alfredsson to Washington for Eakin - it would put them over the cap. No picks.
4th Round: Offer Alfredsson to Jersey for Clarkson - they say no, No Picks.
5th Round: We draft Vladislav Namestnikov lol
We offer Schneider to Chicago for a first, they say no because they dont want to add to their offensive skill surplus......okay..... Nothing else happens in the draft. --------------------
-We let Winchester, Desharnais, Anderson, Mike Brodeur walk. -We re-sign Schneider, Dubnyk, Carkner, Foligno, Eller, Mitchell, Regin, Olimb, Mcquaid, Abdelkader, and I skipped 2 re-signings by accident. -Prospects: We sign Johnston, Santala, Teskey. -UFA: We try to sign Brad Boyes he says no, so we go with Samuelsson for 1 year, he says yes. -RFA: We send Tavares a 4 year, 6.48 per year offer (1st, 2nd, 3rd) we also have NYI 1st so if we can pry JT away, they'll do worse, Tavares accepts the offer sheet but the Islanders match (fuckers). We then decide to try for John Carlson at 5.23 (1st and 3rd) he says no.
We go 1-2-1 in pre-season.
Our lineup is: Parise - Dubinsky - Alfredsson Michalek - Eller - Samuelsson Foligno - Regin - Svatos Potulny - Mitchell - Eaves
Carkner - Karlsson Hale - Seidenberg Weber - A.Johnson
Schenider Dubnyk
