Season 1
1. Marty Turco 89 G
Although this team missed the playoffs, Turco was one of the biggest reasons that they even won a game. He gave the Islanders a chance to win everygame, but they failed to take advantage of it.

Led a untalented offensive team to some success. Was the main part of the team's scoring.

Season 2

Although he came onto an unexperienced team with very little talent, he showed why he was truely a #1 center in this league. Backstrom carried this team on his shoulders offensivly with very little help.
2. Martin Biron 83 G
Came to this team thinking he was going to backup Vesa Toskala, and 10 games in stole the number 1 job. Biron stood on his head many games with little help and helped the team make a run at the playoffs which fell short finishing 9th place in the Eastern Conference.

2. Victor Ohman 79 LW
1st season Calder Trophy. 2nd season Stanley Cup Conn Smyth Trophy. Wow, didn't expect any rookie to do that. This guy is a natural goal scorer. A true leader on this team.
3. Joe Thornton 90 C
'No Show Joe' is no more. Thornton really showed that he can win in the playoffs this year. Thornton's leadership lifted teammates to going 110% everygame which made them champions.
