Back to the interviews for now. Pitts was quite eager for me to interview him, and quite eager for me to put this up. I would say he's more like an eager beaver then a penguin ha ha ha.... sorry.
Q: You're already doing much better then last season *if memory serves*, do you think your team will continue to play well, or will this start of the season surge slowly fade out?
I've been very impressed so far. I obviously can't tell you the future, but I like what I'm seeing. If we keep it going, the possibilities are endless.
Q: How many points do you expect out of your Big 3? How many from each player?
I expect them to bring a good attitude to the team and serve as leaders on this club. Personal stats are secondary to team success.
Q: Straka over Brassard, how come? Is it because he is a LW over Brassard the C, even then, I would play Brassard on the wing. So why Straka?
We signed Martin to be a leader in the room, and quite personally, it would be disrespectful of us to give him anything less than the roster spot he deserves. I realize it is a complicated position for Derick, but unfortunately, as the saying goes, shit happens.
Q: Great top 4 defense, one of the top in the league no doubt. I didn't check your lines *Mainly because I am lazy* but is Bogosian playing with Gonchar? If so, do you think Gonchar will help him develop, or will he do better with someone else?
Andrej Meszaros is playing with Gonchar. Bogosian is on our second pairing with Alex (Kutuzov).
Q: Looks like you wanted San Jose goaltending, starter and back-up. Was that intentional or did it just happen that way?
Just happened. Nabby gave us the support Fleury couldn't last season, and Boucher is far and away the league's best backup goaltender. Match made in heaven.
I disagree, Backstrom is a much better back-up goalie then Boucher.
He could be a starter on some of the shittier teams such as San Jose, etc. His salary is definitely not backup money.
He could only go to San Jose if San Jose actually decided to trade players, not drool over his team that looks good on paper, sucks shit everywhere else.
Q: Do you expect Sid to put up more points then he did last season, especially with his new line mates?
It was an off-season for the whole team. I expect Sid to give his best effort, and from what I saw, he did. No problem with his stats whatsoever.
Q: Where do you expect to finish in the standings, and how deep do you think you will go?
We will finish first in the Eastern Conference.
Q: Last question, you lost to the Leafs, what the fuck?
Let the Leafs have their fun before sinking back into the league basement.
Thanks again for doing this Pens, we had fun as always. Next in line for a show is the infamous San Jose Sharks, that should be fun. Hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, I bid you ado.
