Season has started! Hazzah! Will all 30 teams competing for the cup (make that 29, I don't count San Jose), each and every player has to be key for a successful run. Free agents play a big part in that run. Lets take a look at the Top 3 Free Agent Signings, and the Top 5 Worst Signings.
Lets start with the Top 3 Best Siginings!
3. - Andrew Raycroft 12.4 Million/1 Year
Wait what? Yeah, the Free Agent pool was kind of weak, so this made the top 5. Minnesota was in need of a goalie, and Raycroft played amazing last season, 1 and 1 make 2 right?
2. - Dwayne Roloson 12.4 Million/1 Year
Same deal as the Wild, but a better goaltender. Phoenix wasn't happy with how Ilya played, and signed Roloson on as the starter.
1. - Saku Koivu 2.1 Million/5 Years
What a steal. New Jersey gets a great player, long term, for cheap, because of a fuck up in technicalities. Kudos to New Jersey for noticing it and taking advantage. Easily the best signing of the off-season.
Every other signing either sucked or wasn't great.
Now, Top 5 Worst Signings!
5. - Dwayne Roloson 12.4 Million/1 Year
I know I listed him as one of the best, but league max, come on.
4. - Andrew Raycroft 12.4 Million/1 Year
Same deal with Phoenix, but for a worse goalie.
3. - Matt Cooke 2.1 Million/3 Years
Over-payment to a player who is not worth it. Such a long contract too. Why not a 1 year deal then re-sign him cheap. Whatever, just hope Cooke can do more for your team then be a pest.
2. - Loui Eriksson 4.6 Million/1 Year
He got the year right, but 4.6 Million, come on, this is worse then the Finger signing.
1. & - Francois Beauchemin & Duvie Westcott respectivly, 12.4 Million/1 Year
Are you two out of your fucking minds!?! 12.4 million for at best 2nd pairing defenseman! I know your desperate but throw me a fucking bone here, 12.4 million. Jesus Christ almighty. 12.4, for these two. I just can't get over that. Columbus your team sucks, don't you think that cap could have been put to better use? Philly, I thought you were a better GM then that, shame.
