Pens Fucked Up + Ducks Situation. MUST READ.

Dear all,

I apologize before the following is read, because I guarantee it will anger just about all of you.

Como, the former Anaheim Ducks GM, was busy attending to family concerns, work issues, etc., and I promised him I would consult him personally if his team was in danger. I failed to do this, and hired a new Ducks General Manager in the form of IslesFan90.

Tonight, I was hit with a barrage of instant messages from Como, angered at the loss of the team he built to his own perfection. A fellow GM also threatened to leave if these wishes were not met. After a lengthy discussion, due to my fuck-up, the following will occur:

Como will be reinstated as Ducks GM.

IslesFan90 is first up for the next available team, as he showed, he is a classy, skilled GM, and belongs here in EA Sim.

Now, for the really shitty part:

The Ducks roster will be restored to what it was before the new GM was hired. All Ducks' trades since then will be reversed. Those deals are the following:

Sucks that it happened, but it shows how classy of an owner to accept his mistakes and try to solve the problem. I'm sure the compensation will make everyone happy too. And, those trades that had to be reversed can always be re-negotiated.

My response to this is two-fold.

Firstly, on a professional level and as someone who both runs a sim league and belongs to sim leagues, I can not possibly respect this decision more. He VERY thoughtfully and carefully considered ALL of his options, and thoroughly considered what would be best for his league. This was especially difficult since I know through many conversations with him how much he LOVES Ovechkin. His PERSONAL sacrifice in this matter is probably more than many of you will know or appreciate.

Secondly, on a personal level (or even human level), I want to thank Quinn for this simply because I really was going through a rough and complicated time. As a couple of you here know, I recently became a father, and have been struggling with finding a new job, and balancing fatherhood as well. The fact that Quinn was willing to take this into consideration shows a maturity and depth of feeling that one cannot help but respect.

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for my inactivity. Again, those few of you who do know me know the above-mentioned issues have caused me more inactivity than I would have liked, but these have now been placed in check. So I will end with this:

My pledge to this site, and to Quinn, Penguins GM. I will remain active on this site, and make up for lost time. I will do my best to return to my "entertaining" self, as some of you voted in the awards thinger, which I thank you for... And damnit, Detroit, this year I've spoken to the boys, and be damned if we're losing to you again, so get your fellas ready for one hell of a semi-finals! The Real Anaheim Ducks are back!!!

I am on board with this decision 100%. It is clearly the right thing to do. I'll just sit tight and wait for a team to open up.

I wasn't thrilled about taking over Como's team at the start. (Or PR as I refer to him) I have all the respect in the world for him after being involved with him in ManNHL since March I believe. This league is lucky to have a great character back. Good luck all.
