Since the 2009-10 season has the Olympic games, we won't have an All-Star game as long as we are using NHL 10. I was thinking we could still do an All-Star and each GM could vote in the All-Stars.
Thoughts?

yea sure. We could have like the best 3 guys from each team have a spot to vote from.

My idea was to have a list of players to vote from, best players from each conference, point wise, and each GM gets to vote in a certain amount of players and then the team is made based on votes for each player. Kind of hard to explain but if you were in Drew's 2k8 league back in the day, you would know what I mean.

K, so here's my idea for a format.
- All-Star is between the two conferences, East and West (rather than World vs. North America or any of that bullshit lol)
- There are 15 GMs in each conference. Each GM nominates three players from his club to be nominated on the ballot, resulting in a ballot of 45 players for each conference (if a GM fails to fill out the nomination, their top 3 rated guys will be nominated automatically).
- The 15 GMs of each conference then vote in the 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goalies of their choice from their conference. The top 12 forwards, top 6 defensemen and top 2 goalies in terms of total votes once all 15 GMs have voted are officially named to the respective teams.
Like it? We could even make a little prize for the winners of it. Like an extra bonus round for the GMs of the conference that won (that are online during the draft, of course) or something.

I really like the idea of a prize for the winning conference because the gm's will then want to vote for the best players possible and not just the ones that get nominated from their respective teams (like I know I would do!! LOL)

I like it, the only thing I would suggest is that every team must have at least 1 representative, I know I wouldn't really care about it if no one on my team was playing, where as if I had someone representing my team I'd be more interested in it.
Also, would it just be a single game, or like a series?

Yeah, each team would definitely need to have at least 1 representative.
