Just an idea for bonus picks or overall boosts, like the deadline game. Before the real NHL 2009 free agency we have a prediction game just like we did for the deadline, guess where players go. Something like, guess the team, guess the contract length and/or amount give or take 500k. Example. Guess: Martin Havlat - 7 years 5.75 per year. Actual: Martin Havlat - 8 years 6.5 per year. I'd get like 1 point guess the team, 0 for term and 0 for amount because it's > 500k. Just an idea.

Not for every free agent choose a certain amount - IE the big names.

Like the major free agents. Or like a certain 30 of them.

Do like the top 30 free agents and just guess where they will sign. Whoever guesses the most right gets a 1st. Runner up gets a 2nd. So on and so forth.

The issue I have with this is that the financial terms of the deal aren't always announced right now, and some FAs (ala Sundin, etc.) can take fooooooooorever to decide. That and I think we have enough contests as is.

I was actually thinking the upgrade prize. Top 3-5 get to upgrade a player or two. We only have done this once and I would personally like it more than a pick. The financial part wouldn't be added then for that free agent, no body would get that extra pick. Not many people/teams and dicks like Sundin is.

I personally think we have more than enough prize games already, it's being overdone, and this is complicated as fuck and the odds of getting a deal even within $500K is low.
