I started a dynasty with toronto got luongo for toskala and someone traded kaberle for phaneuf and someone and got the twins (forgot how, this was my first season) and ended up winning the cup so even if you try not to stack up your team, this game makes you win for some reason

Has anyone here have a problem where they couldnt change a players potential?
Like I put Gustavsson (SP) on the leafs and his potential was 72. So i wanted to change his potential to 89 and when I started the dynasty, it when back to 72... and it wouldnt change. So then I created him, made his potential 89, and when It was done, I checked and it was 80 and wouldnt change.
Maybe my game is just screwed

lol That is a typical NHL09 trade. Pretty easy to rip off the CPU. My NHL 06 for PS2....you can trade your 3rd round pick for a 1st,2nd and 3rd
