I had been asked for Phaneuf by Penguins (hopefully he doesn't mind me mentioning this) and I demanded Malkin be a part of the deal. Who's the say that is unfair based on ratings? If Dmen are rated low in the game it's possibly because they produced too much at a higher overall and to drop them down to producing around 40 to 50 points as an 82 to 85, where a forward would likely produce similarly, is likely accurate. But to trade a dman of 82 for a forward of 82 is both fair and unfair. Fair in terms of rating equivalence, and unfair in terms of production. The 82 would produce as a top 4 defenseman, the 82 player would produce as much as a third line player.

Good point - because D are rated lower in general, they will get more ice time and thus, more production.

good point Flames but I never go down without a fight lmfao
Everyone is lower in ratings with just minimal players are rated higher than a 85. meaning that only players who desaerve to be up theree will be. except for that everyone is rated about the same. So everyone will perform the same no matter what position. EA isn't smaret with ratings...they do it based on performance and average. meaning there is no D-men are lower because they do good no it's because the average in the game is 83-85 and most players are in that range

lol goalies are different...... They dont get points so 89 for a goalie is pretty good but for a player it's the best rating.

Exactly. Goalies, Forwards and Defense all have their own rating scales. They are much more difficult to compare...hence the original suggestion.
