BREAKING NEWS OUT OF EDMONTONAfter finishing 2nd in the Western Conference in Season 3, there were big expectations from the organization to go deep into the playoffs and maybe even get to the Stanley Cup Finals. Those expectations were shot down in just 4 games. The Oilers were swept by the 7th seeded Anaheim Ducks. Changes for Season 4 for imminent. For now, head coach Craig Mac Tavish was safe. Big trades were made in the off-season with big names on their way in. Players included Jarome Iginla, Nicklas Lidstrom, Marian Gaborik and old fan favourite, Ryan Smyth. GM Wynne thought these changes would be enough for a deep run in Season 4. After starting Season 4 with a record of 19 - 16 - 1, GM Wynne has decided enough is enough. The team has announced the firing of head coach Craig Mac Tavish. Mac Tavish had been with the Oilers since the 1999-2000 season. We would like to thank Craig for everything he has done for the organization. Replacing Mac Tavish will be former Minnesota Wild benchboss, Jacques Lemaire. This team has been lacking the defensive aspect of the game and we as an organization believe Jacques can help this team become more of a defensive style team. We believe this change in scenery will spark our team. GM Wynne and Jacques Lemaire will now take any questions.

In this league I think Lemaire is still coach of the Wild...

Why would you fire the coach who has no influence over the team when you, the GM, built this team? Would you not place more blame on yourself? And why would the "owner" not fire the GM before the coach?

Lol, I am calm, just throwing questions out there that make the GM clueless.

Is it a good sign when the GM of the Wild doesn't know who's coaching their team?

Are the reports true of the Wild GM and yourself smoking crack together on occasion?

I love how I got more questions then he did Bruins, I have absolutely no idea who I hired, but they're winning, so oh well. Pens, no, Oilers likes the Leafs, and dislikes the Canucks, that would end violently

Thrashers - I think it will help the Oilers out, even though he didn't take us to the play-offs Canucks - A wood chuck would chuck all the wood if a wood chuck could chuck wood.

My contribution to this thread... Google image search for Jacques Lemaire. Looks pretty similar.
