Would be cool to get SOMETHING from suggestions. People were cool with the blind bidding thing, we had several volunteers to do it for us. At one point we were told to wait until this season...we are in December....we have heard nothing.
If you aren't going to do it, please say so.

Unless we have a solid plan in place on how things would be done, I'm not willing to just jump into something. I have seen to many times how people will do things. Once it gets left behind becuase it wasn't done, everything falls apart behind it. Just running with people volunteering doesn't work for me. Not on something this important to this site.

Yes it was a yes,(as far as I was concerned) but then it comes time to get it started and we have to fly right away everything had to be ready. There is a long player list that needs to be kept track of with this process. It isn't as simple as it may seem.

when is comes time to implement it, the people respnsible will need to be ready. As no information had changed hands, like the massive player list that needs to be kept track of for this. I moved forward as I usually would. Next season when and if we get to this point I will stop and take the 2 or 3 weeks it wil take to make sure this all in place. I am sure with the change Quinn won't be running it. So who ever is will now be responsible for keeping track of the master player list as well. As myself and Quinn have stated on many different occasions, when this is no longer enjoyable for us to run we will no longer be doing it. So enjoy tearing down what we have built. Go ahead if that makes you happy. I will not take something that has been enjoyable for me for 5 years and make it something I hate doing just to make acouple people happy.

I appoligize if that offends anybody. But I took it as a slap in the face from EDM, Especially with all the work I have put in trying to make two leagues work. I just have no time for people who want to make a random statement without knowing why.

All we were ever suggesting for this season was doing it with ONE player to see how it panned out. The non-playoff team Legend would have been perfect. No lists need to change hands, someone can run it without bias, etc. This is nothing to be freaking out about. It was a small way to get people re-engaged in the league. Literally, the ONLY change that would happen on your or QUinn's end would be when Quinn posts the auction, he could lock the thread, and say "PM [insert team name] your bids for this blind auction" Since someone else would be handling that, it's actually LESS work for the two of you. exactly this league is and has running fine for forever i dont understand this constant suggestion for changes People said the same thing back in the days of slavery. There is always room for improvement. To believe otherwise is naive and short-sighted. |

I had no problem with what you had to say. I had a problem with EDM coming after me. But I will always stick the fact that when it becomes unenjoyable for me, I won't be doing it anymore. So if people want change, they should try another league and see how it works. Ask everybody else that has had sim leagues how change works. The same people that complain and want change are the same ones that quit all the time. They are never satisfied. I would rather make the majority happy then soothe the few that will exit as soon as they are bored. We are on season 29 with the majority being here the whole time. I don't mind change when it makes sense to change. I still believe silent auctions will destroy auctions even worse though. I know I will only bid on somebody I really want if that is ever in place.

Just because I don't post doesn't mean I'm not lurking around for standings and stuff  EDIT: And I don't hate JM, he's been a good commish in terms of running this league. However, I don't understand his stance on choosing not to make a change even when activity's been dying down and there's a clear divide between the same good teams and average teams. |

There is no divide between good and bad teams. If there is, that is a result of the bad teams choosing to stick with certain players. Pittsburgh missed the playoffs last year. Talent doesn't matter. You guys wanted something new and I worked my ass of to create another site with what everybody wanted. Changing the auction set up isn't going to change what you want at all. Probably will just push things the other way more. I am not going to do a total overhaul on the only active sim site on the planet. To say this is dieing is almost laughable. Have you been on any other sites?? This is it buddy, this the measuring stick they have to compare themselves to. Everybody would love to have what we have. This isn't just a sim site anymore, This is a chat site where people that have become friends over 5 years come to talk about sports and anything they feel like.
