After a 7 page discussion, and a page or two in the c-box, we need to know where everyone stands on this matter. The votes got messed up in the original vote so we need your true vote here.
Please leave a comment as to why you picked Tampa Bay or New Jersey.
EDIT:
For both sides of the argument, please visit the first poll on this topic.
Scroll through a few of the 7 pages and tell us who you believe deserves Emery.

Yeah, and if NOTHING else, read the last comment by Calgary, summarizing the whole 7 pages. Its generally accurate.
The problem with this though, is that it does undercut the whole, epic debate we went through, and people probably won't read all of the arguments.

After reading the whole 7 page argument one more time, I don't think this was New Jersey's or Tampa Bay's fault. I don't think the rules made were very clear or very good. I don't agree with the maximum raise rule. You can't have a MAX out bid and have a maximum raising rule because things like this will happen. You will get to the point where a bid will be less then $100,000 under the MAX out, and nobody will be able to bid higher then that final offer, making the MAX out number, useless in situations like this. I think we need to get rid of the $2,000,000 maximum raise rule.
I will not get to my vote. I chose Tampa Bay. My first vote was for New Jersey mainly because Tampa Bay said NOTHING to try and get Emery, so I figured he didn't care that he lost Emery, technicality or not. All his arguments were made by Anaheim, who did a damn good job. The argument was just going back and forth and could have gone on forever. The main reason for my vote is exactly what Anaheim was arguing. In the rules, it does state that each bid must be higher by $100,000 then the previous vote. Tampa's previous vote was $10,000,000, leaving only $60,000 to the MAX out. There is not enough space to make a new bid because it needs to be higher by $100,000, so the legitimate bid New Jersey had to make was $10,100,000, which he can't do because it is over the MAX.
I do think that New Jersey should get a goalie from FA for compensation for this however. Some of you might disagree with that, but I will be sticking to that, because he is getting screwed out of a goalie. You shouldn't really be able to go back on having a FA claimed by this looks like the exception.
I think the rules need to be altered RIGHT NOW so this doesn't happen again.

I do think that New Jersey should get a goalie from FA for compensation for this however. I don't disagree with this, since he will be away until FA is over. But the problem is who? Cause guys like Ahonen have non-Tampa/NJ bids? We can't scam those guys.

I can withdraw my bid on Grahame and give him to NJ at league-minimum salary. Grahame was a starter for Tampa after Khabibulin left, maybe he can re-kindle the old magic...

is his rating reasonable? We're not just tossing a 79 in his lap? cause that won't help him, I don't think...

He has an 80 doesn't he...? SO i donno if he will care...too bad he left before we could discuss it with him. He was understandably unimpressed earlier.

with a vote the decision is made made the whole staff. This isn't dictatorship so it won't be made by one person.

I think that we should toss him back in the mix. I know New Jersey wouldn't have broke any rules on purpose. I think this deserves a re-do.
Emery back into the FA pool? Anyone? I think we should do that.

If he goes back into FA, it should be for next year

Why are we even considering putting him back into FAs? The staff is saying flat out, he should go to Tampa, and Jersey just can't accept a loss so he wants to do everything he can just to make sure Tampa doesn't get him. It sucks, but it's a game and rules are rules, life goes on. Why not just let it go and try and get Ahonen?
