I'm going to have around $180 of trade credit from eb games next week as I'm selling my old broken PS3, my broken Ipod touch and an old controller that always has wet stuff on the sticks.
I'm curious to see what games you guys recommend buying, I'm going to be using 40 bucks towards a new controller tho, and some towards the NHL 13, let's basically say I have around 100$ to spend
I was debating getting the uncharted series (all three games) I heard #2 was amazing, I played some of them slightly before at friends houses, but never really got into them.
I was also thinking L.A Noire, I just beat Red Dead Redemption, and about to beat GTA 4 and I'm liking the rockstar style of games.
I already have all the CODs, and I have a fallout, never finished it and not interested in that sort of game.
Any suggestions?

I'm also not really interested in the online play at this point, mainly the story.

Dude, use a Kleenex for that... If you're into the story more than the online play I highly suggest the Uncharted series, 1, 2 & 3. Assassin's Creed series, 1, 2 Brotherhood, Revelations. And finally get LA Noire. All of them have great stories and gameplay. Uncharted and Assassin's Creed has some good online game modes too, if you do look into that. They'll all be below retail price too, they've been out for a bit. If I had to pick one it would be Assassin's Creed, has to be the whole series. The first one some people find a little repetitive, but the next three games get exponentially better.

Every single day the sticks are all messed up haha, and they aren't dualshock or vibrating ones, so I'm just going to get a new one, I still have one that works fine.
I bet theres some demos for the games, I may download those today, I never tired assissans creed.

DO NOT GET LA NOIRE. The story is pretty good but the game sucks. It is completely repetitive and there is no downside to getting questions wrong. You will get bored of it quick. Now if the game is selling for $20 then it isn't that bad of a buy as you may like the repetitiveness but anymore than that and you might as well burn your cash. lol.
What you should get really depends what your into:
-Uncharted and God of War collections are pretty cheap right now (Uncharted 1&2 Duel pack for $40, God of War Collection (1&2) remade for ps3 is selling for $20)
-Assassin's Creed is a sweet series, can feel a bit repetitive but I think the overall story line and extras more than make up for it and buying the first game should only cost you $10 bucks, easily worth trying out.
-Metal Gear Solid series is a lot of fun, the first game for ps1 can be bought on the PSN, while MGS2, MGS3, and Peace Walker are combined and remade in HD on the PS3 for $40 as Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. A very good series with a fantastic story-line and lots of extras to find and unlock and tons of replay value.
-If your into RPGs then Final Fantasy is a solid series to get into but if you haven't gotten into it from the PS1 days with FF7, FF8 or FF9 then you probably wont like the newer games. If you want to take a shot at them FF13 and FF13-2 on the PS3 are only $20 each right now. 7, 8, & 9 can be bought on the PSN. If your into RPGs and don't mind playing PS1 graphics and earlier then I would recommend Legend of Dragoon (PS1) and Chrono Trigger (SNES, re-released on the PS1 with added anime cut-scenes along with FF4 called Final Fantasy Chronicles). These can be bought for cheap on the PSN and since you can buy PSN cards at EB you can download and play these games.
All prices I got were from the EB Games website.

I forgot to say I already beat God of War, I had Metal Gear before and wasn't really a fan.
I'm thinking either the Uncharted series or Assassin's Creed. Are either open world?
I'll take your advice on LA Noire, I haven't really heard much hype about it since it's release.

It's a great story and the gameplay is fine. It's original. I really enjoyed LA Noire.
If you can get it for $30 buy it.

Assassin's Creed is more open world than Uncharted.
Both fantastic.

Yup. The controller isn't broken, the sticks constantly just get sticky and wet on the tips. The iPod' jack is messed up so the left side plug in only works if you hold it, but they don't need to know that. Everything else works with the iPod. And its the Playstation that has the yellow light thing.
I may just keep the credit and just think some more on what I'd want in the future, maybe just pick up L.A Noire.
I still have some ways to go on GTA 4, and I won't have time to finish another 3 games this summer.

Wow, never knew that. Would it be all ebgames? or is it just a local thing for your town?

All ebgames,
I'm actually going to St.Catherines instead of Toronto to do it since I'll be in uni once NHL 13 is released, and I have to be there next week anyways
