most have been submitted. We have a long list. Gradually get 5 in a year. We have to get real Legends in at the same time as we put the crap ones in that everybody wants as well. LOL

Trevor Kidd should be on this list, WTF Jesus WTF.
I'm under the impression this goes through more than 1 or 2 people before being decided upon though, so that's good. Cause when it comes to Legends, it's easy for some guys to look subjective when they are actually totally worthy.
The one PHX and I talked about was Felix Potvin. Who the fuck would consider him a legend? But when you look at the numbers, he had better career numbers than Mike Richter pretty much across the board.
If you asked me offhand if I would consider Potvin a legend, I would say no, he is just someone people have a sentimental attachment to. But when Richter is here, it kind of means Potvin should be. I mean, all that separates them is 1 Stanley Cup, and 1 All-star appearance. And if Cups matter, Roenick is here...
And so on. Legends are neat either way.

most of Felix's best numbers were as a back-up playing against expansion teams. Remember the days that backups got to play against all the expansion teams. Sucks to have parity in the league now, well atleast for backup goalies

...are you basing that on his best season - the one where he had 69GP and had a save percentage of 0.910? And how does that argument account for Potvin having better PLAYOFF career numbers than Richter as well?
And are you taking into account that he played for BRUTAL teams, when Richter played behind Messier, Gretzky, Leetch, Graves, Bure, Fleury, Lindros, and the rest of the NHL Hall of Fame? Or are we just Potvin-hating again?

yes, Potvin had acouple good years as an NHL starter. But many many more as NHL backup and expansion goalie

yes, Potvin had acouple good years as an NHL starter. But many many more as NHL backup and expansion goalie ...I don't get what you are saying here. I am looking at CAREER numbers, and PLAYOFF numbers. He was not a backup his whole career, and he was not a backup in the playoffs. Just because Richter was a starter for a stacked team doesn't make him better than a goalie with better numbers. All that separates them (as I said several times) is a Cup. That's it. And if anything, Felix Potvin stealing a STARTING job from Grant Fuhr in 93 should be a testament to his quality as a STARTER as well....

He was a starter for what, like 7 or 8 seasons? I'm just looking at numbers here. He only played over 50 games 5 times, throw in the shortened season in '94, and '93 where he played 48. The rest looks like backup numbers for starts.

But...why is this even kind of relevant? They played almost identical career games and one clearly has better career numbers. Felix even had more shutouts, (his best being when he played 71 games - more than Richter ever had in 1 season).

Backup goalies play against weaker opponents.

Potvin only played ~30 games less than Richter. And he wasn't in the league that much longer.
I don't give a flying fuck either way, but I'm just saying.
Also, Potvin fucked up Hextall.

Backup goalies play against weaker opponents. He played for the Leafs, Islanders, Canucks, Kings, and Bruins. His team WAS the weaker opponent... And still no one has addressed the playoff issue. Better stats in the playoffs, and pretty much same number of GP.

When do you add? Should we be adding the new ones as they are added to auctions so the Ace legends entering auctions now are on this list too?
