I've come up with a new idea for a sim site. Instead of being the GM of a team, I thought it would be neat to create your own player, get drafted to an NHL team, and see how your player does during the sims.
Simming would be done on NHL 11. You would have the chance to make your player exactly how you want him.
I was thinking about starting off with 16ish guys in the league, depending on the interest generated by this write up. Once I figure out how many people will be in the league, I will do a couple of random draws to see where your player gets drafted.
When creating your player, you will be able to submit the exact information you want. This includes name, position, jersey number, height, weight and all that good stuff. You'll be able to choose what player type you want aswell.
All players will start off at an 80 overall rating, with mid level potential. You will be given 2000 boost points for your player's categories, such as speed, passing, puck control, etc. Using 2000 boosts will give your guy an 80 overall rating. You can use the boosts wherever you'd like, but each category must be 50 or higher at all times. There are 25 different categories, so you need to choose where to use your boost points carefully.
At the conclusion of each season, your players will earn more boost points, all depending on stats, awards and performance. The better your player does, the more boost points you'll get. You want to try and make your player an elite NHLer.
I hope all of that isn't too confusing. I really like the idea and hope I can generate enough interest to make this happen.
If you would be interested in participating in this type of league, please leave a reply below.
