All 14 non-playoff teams will enter the lottery, and the team that wins the lottery (usually the 30th place team, but other teams HAVE won before) will move up 4 spots (maximum), meaning that although a team outside the top 5 can win the lottery, only the five lowest-finishing teams in the league are eligible for the first overall pick. As such, no team can drop more than one spot. Odds of winning the lottery and eligible teams are as follows: Odds of Winning the First Overall Pick48% 19% 14% 11% 8% Odds of Winning the Draft Lottery25% 19% 14% 11% 7% 6% 5% 4% 3% 2% 1% 1% 1% 1%

Rare occurrence (first time this has happened in our league, in fact) a team outside of the top 5 has won the draft lottery. Congratulations, NY Rangers. Although the Rangers will not get the first overall pick as they were 7th in the original order, they will move up 4 spots to the third overall pick, while Florida retains its first overall pick. New order is as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. :atl: 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14.
