Or you could take the 3 seconds it would take you to unlock the post, and it would be resolved and I would not have to deal with it anymore and I would have time to do things like update my roster (which should be updated, since I haven't made any moves...)

Anaheim, grow the fuck up.
Maybe if you weren't sucha jackass about everything to begin with people would consider your suggestions, this is the "Suggestion Box" not the "Let's go Fucking Demand Shit Box".
Seriously, on every fourm, I've EVER been on, threads get locked, hell on some forums, once a thread goes 7 days without anything being posted in it, it's considered a dead thread and locked.

Try and finish your roster before you start complaining about things like locked threads.
We are close to finishing season 2 and your roster has never had a cap hit..

Once again, instead of dealing with the fact that Oilers is abusing his powers as a staff member, we are whining about my salary....and Philly, if you are ok with being a part of boards that WANT you to not have a say, that's great - more power to ya. I, however, tend to value free speech, opinions, and so on, and would rather have the ability to post my thoughts than be told what, when, and how to think. That being said, I would say it is you who needs to grow up. Or at least grow a fucking backbone and stop wandering around aimlessly allowing other people to say when you can and cannot talk on a message board.

I agree with Anaheim, but that's probably because his opinion isn't represented by the mindless souls of America's youth... or something along those lines. Kids have no souls.

Anaheim, what you need to do is realise not everything is going to be how you want it. I wouldn't have even bothered posting in here if you weren't such a jackass to start.
For some reason you think this forum needs to be catered to your needs, but it's not. All your "suggestions" aren't even suggestions, they're you demanding retarded things like this. Threads are going to be locked, who gives a flying fuck, if its that important to you start another thread.
Now stop bitching, or atleast stop demanding while you bitch.

Agreed Philly. Anaheim why is it so goddamn important for you to un-lock a thread that most of the members here had forgotten about. Everyone here had moved on from it but you. Move on, threads get locked, it happens, deal with it.

Sometimes threads get revisited, and other than the trades section where Detroit would lock a thread after he processes it so he can keep track of the one's he did, and the free agency where they are locked until next year's event, no threads should actually be locked.
As much as you guys are complaining about "who cares", it's the same argument in return. Otherwise, we might as well just start locking threads all over the place so no one ever speaks and everyone communicates in the cbox and via pm only.
No need to start name calling guys, respect each other's opinion. I respect the Ducks opinion to keep them unlocked, and I respect your opinion on believing this suggestion is foolish because it doesn't matter.
If it doesn't matter, then leave them unlocked, problem solved. If you object to that, then it DOES matter to you, and you're a dirty, filthy liar.

I have no problem with wanting to leave them open, but why is this such a big deal, the thread in question caused some issues, so it was locked, I don't see why it has to be re-opened, re-opening the issues that it was locked to prevent in the first place.

You're right, a thread that got into a complete bash, unless featured in trash talk, should be deleted.

Here's the deal.
It's become obvious from two seperate incidents that only myself and Detroit are capable of maturely handling the ability to lock a thread. The Edmonton trash talk thread should definitely not have been locked, as it was not finished and was...well...trash talk, so I see no point whatsoever of locking that one.
However, tonight, Calgary abused this ability by locking all of the threads in the Philadelphia Flyers' team board (the security log works wonders, eh?). This was not warranted at all, and in my opinion, was more immature and unnecessary than the aforementioned incident. I would appreciate an explanation please Calgary.
Anyways, cutting to the chase, the ability to lock has been removed from global mods, meaning only the administrators (myself and Detroit) will have this ability. It's sad that it had to go this way, really is.

Just wondering how that's fair to the mods who actually do their job and don't abuse their powers?
I'm speaking about Edmonton, Buffalo and myself.
Why not just demote or just remove all titles from Calgary? Hes the one to blame.

Yeah, as far as i know, the other global mods haven't done anything wrong. It doesn't seem fair to punish them for what one did.

The Edmonton trash talk thread was locked by Edmonton. It's too bad, but staff power is not an individual thing, consider yourselves like a team. A couple people mess up here and there, screws it up for everybody.
I know it sucks, but honestly, I don't think this power should have gone to anyone but the admins in the first place. It is almost as fragile a power as the ability to delete, which I did not give to ANYONE when the site first opened.
