So, reading through all of this, how does this look:
8 Keepers (any positions) No Auto-Protected Players Next 5 highest rated players (any position, including goaltender) go into the draft. If there is a tie in overall for the 5th guy going in, you can choose which of the tied players goes in.
Good?

I like this idea, when do Keepers have to be in?

Next year's trade deadline. Don't forget this is the last year we'll have a rookie draft, then we officially go no-cap. Next season's draft will be keeper style with this format I have concocted. (Is that a word?)

perfect. Must add you can only pick a goalie if you loose a goalie

So is S3 no-cap or S4?
If it's S4 I think we should get rid of the contract management and FA for this offseason then, this will allow Detroit to be able to start simming S3 faster.
I know people might throw a shit-fit, but UFA generally sucks and there was no one really good to pick up (besides some of the goalies).

I'm satisfied if we can protect 8.

Is that enough room to protect the Schenn brothers?

This Idea is good. I like it. So we do not have to re - sign our players since we will be a no cap league next reason, am I correct?

I think we should just forget the rookie draft and jump right into the keeper at the end of this season. It seems we have most of this worked out already. No point in waiting. Just my Opinion
