Carter has to step up, for sure. Gagne has the skill and heart to make it. Is he going through an injury or something? You don't just ignore a 40 goal scorer.

I believe he is, which is why I said he probably won't make it this year.

its not his offense that is in question, it is his work ethic and also defensive aspect to his game that makes him questionable, IMO. Watching the sens, philly game last night, the only guy I would pick from philly would be pronger. We have great players out there that can play the same role as Carter and are way more consistant.

Another guy who is making a strong case for himself for a 4th line role is Mike Fisher. He is on fire this year and on a team that is mediocre at best. I love the sens and cheer for them no matter what but with the group of guys we have and lack of goaltending at the moment, for Fisher to be +5 with 25pts is pretty damn good.

I agree that his defense sucks but really its the defensemen who should be making up for the lack of defense on our offense. I doubt a whole lot of great two way players will make our team anyway

Canada isn't making the same type of team as they did in 2006. They will have a balanced team, not just all-stars. If you can't play defensive or be on the top 2 lines, you shouldn't be on the team. You can't just rely on the defense to bail you out.

It's not the defenseman's job to make-up for the forwards lack of defense, they have enough on their plate already.

yea but you have to remember that our defence are going to be trying to stop ovie and kovy coming down on them, not to mention many other stars from other countrys. Our defence is going to need help from our forwards coming back and backchecking. I could see our top 2 lines being strictly offence but we will need the grinder type players out there that will be willing to come back into the defensive zone and help out.

Thats why players like Morrow, Doan, Richards, Bergeron, Fisher(?) are being considered for the team. If they wanted all the top scorers, we would see Cammalleri on this team.:S

Yea but I think you fail to realize that the same pressure will be on the other teams we're playing.... you can have about 8 allstar scorers on your team and 4 defensive guys (doan and morrow) and just tell your team to backcheck and if you don't, its not like the NHL where your the all star for your team, theres plenty other of guys that we can put out there.

www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=510266I'd say this is pretty much what the roster will look like. The only person I MAY change would be Penner, but he's is having a good season.

Penner better not make it. I would rather Green play in that forward spot.

Rick Nash - Sidney Crosby - Jarome Iginla Dany Heatley - Joe Thornton - Patrick Marleau Martin St. Louis - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry Shane Doan - Mike Richards - Brendan Morrow
Scott Niedermayer - Chris Pronger Dan Boyle - Shea Weber Duncan Keith - Drew Doughty
Roberto Luongo Martin Brodeur
Ex. Jonathan Toews, Brent Seabrook/Jay Bouwmeester, Marc-Andre Fleury
That is what I'd like to see, or something along those lines.
